Berlin-based İpek İpekçioğlu and Stockholm-based Hakan Vreskala are bringing their long-standing musical friendship and dreams to their audience in the form of DJ Set & Live Performance with their singles Bir Çift Turna, Gelme Bana and Time // Zaman
İpek İpekçioğlu, who works as a producer and curator and synthesizes Anatolian music, which she describes as Eclectic Berlinistan, with Berlin minimal-techno, house, and electro beats, and Hakan Vreskala, who blends folk music with his own understanding of drums, darbuka, erbane, and vocals,
create an organic electronic sound with their first songs. İpekçioğlu, who has produced songs such as Uyan Uyan, which has topped charts such as Beatport and Katermukke, from metropolises such asNew York, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Montreal to the deserts of Mali, was most recently the supervisor of Selda Bağcan;s remix album. With his debut album Her Köyde Bir Deli Var, Hakan Vreskala expressed that there is another world out there and soon gained a wide audience with his multilingual love songs and creative musical rebellion. The musician has given hundreds of concerts
in Brazil, Germany, Scandinavia, and many cities in Europe, often collaborating with İpek İpekçioğlu. Multi-instrumentalist Deniz Mahir Kartal plays traditional instruments such as kaval and duduk as well as saxophone, clarinet, çağlama and guitar. He grew up with traditional Anatolian music from the age of five and studied Turkish folk dance and music at Istanbul Technical University
Conservatory. Currently living in Berlin, Deniz Mahir Kartal works on a wide range of projects and is
interested in various genres such as traditional, classical, jazz, modern, and electronic music.
Having collaborated with many artists such as Babylon Orkestrası, İstanbul Ghetto Club, A.G.A. Trio,
Cenk Erdoğan, Sarp Maden, Ah! Kosmos, Hakan Vreskala, İpek İpekoglu, Elif, Aynur Doğan, Zigan Aldi,
Derya Yıldırım, Ensemble Resonanz, Volkan İncüvez, Olcay Bayır, Taner Akyol, he performs his music
all over Europe and Turkey.
He also composes soundtracks, makes music arrangements, and teaches duduk at Hildesheim
University. In his solo project "KafaNar", he combines traditional Anatolian music with live
instruments, electronic rhythms, loops, and vocals to create a hypnotic, danceable sound and an
unforgettable live performance.
